trekking of 19, 500 feet which can be done on foot, via buses or helicopters
among the snowy passes and cliff top monasteries leading to tranquil, holy
place is worth experiencing. High altitudes, freezing temperatures, arduous
trails makes it a difficult trek for trekkers.
Besides chardham yatra packages, Kailash Mansarovar yatra packages have
started these days. Under expert guidance and skills of professionals, the
trekking is done. Trekking is commenced via Lipulekh pass in Uttrakhand or
Nathula Pass in Sikkim. According to Government of India, people below age of
18 years and above 70 years are not allowed for this trek and a person should
be physically fir, free of any ailments to conquer this peak.The major

Ø Lake Mansarovar- At a distance of 20 km from Mount Kailash lies blue
sacred waters of this lake which are believed to be the mark of purity and is
said to wash off all the sins. Best time to visit this lake is 3am – 5am when
it is believed that gods come to bathe in here.
Ø Gauri Kund – This place is also of Mythological significance. It is
a group of 5 natural small pond of green emerald water.

Ø Asthapad- Bottom of Mount Kailash
Ø Tarboche – Flagpole with prayer flags signifying tibetan
